I watch Hulu less than some of the other streaming services but I use it quite a bit nonetheless so here is some of my favorites from Hulu.
That's some damn good coffee Diane. Damn good coffee...Twin Peaks is the weirdest show I've seen. I don't know how it works so well but I know it has something to do with Lynch's direction. The mystery is also pretty damn gripping and makes me accept all of the dream stuff that I often am not a huge fan of. The movie isn't on the level of the show but I would suggest it as well.
Atlanta follows Earn (Donald Glover), a Princeton dropout who is looking to find his way in the hip-hop hub that Atlanta is. His cousin Miles, is a new hot artist so Earn tries to become his Manager. We spend the day to day with Alfred, Earn, and Alfred's eccentric stoner friend named Darius. This show is half comedy half drama and always hilarious in a very realized way. Can't wait for the next upcoming third season!
Ramy Hassan is a first-generation Egyptian-American who is on a spiritual journey in his politically divided New Jersey neighborhood. He becomes caught between a Muslim community that thinks life is a moral test and a millennial generation that believes life has no consequences. Through it all, he's still trying to do the things that most 20-somethings do, like date. Which side will win out? I love this show--like Atlanta, it is half drama and comedy in a very realized and down to earth way.
The Simpsons is a long running animated show that paved the way for many of its kind. Two of which are Family Guy and American Dad which are hilarious too and have names for themselves over time too with their own unique qualities
This show had its finale about six years ago, so even though it was very popular then, I know there are a good amount of people who still haven’t seen this gritty show about a motorcycle gang in Charming, California.
Lala Land, the almost best picture winner of the 2016 Oscars has been recently added to HBO Go. It is a ton of fun and so nostalgic for those who lived during the time of the film's inspiration. The songs are great, the direction is perfect, the film looks amazing, the performances are top-notch, and the film is all of the above.
Casino Royale is my favorite Bond installation of all time and I am so excited that I could rewatch it on Hulu. For a super in depth review of the film directed by Martin Campbell and starring Daniel Craig, Mads Mikkelson, and Eva Green, check out my 'movie of the week' blog in the 'movies' section of The Binge.
Parasite, the Oscar winner for best picture of 2019, and my favorite film of 2019, is now streaming on Hulu! Read my in depth review of the film in my 'best movies of 2019' blog in the 'movies' section.
Goodfellas is one of the best mob films of all time following the true story of Henry Hill and his years of growing up with Lucchese crime family starring Ray Liotta, Joe Pesci, Robert Deniro, Samuel L. Jackson and directed by one of the greatest directors of all time, Martin Scorcese (The Irishman, Taxi Driver, Raging Bull).
The Usual Suspects has the best twist ending of all time and is overall a great film starring Kevin Spacey, Gabriel Byrne, and Benecio Del Toro and directed by Brian Singer (Bohemian Rhapsody, X-Men).
